A Bit of History, a Bit of Innovation and a bunch of Magic

Most of those interested in the pursuit of Saltwater fish with a flyrod, have no doubt heard the name of Flip Pallot… An early pioneer of chasing the worlds premier shallow water gamefish on fly, Flip is responsible for a huge number of innovations and techniques we take for granted in this day and age… even if you haven’t heard of him, you are more than likely taking advantage of something he had a hand in putting together, or dreaming up, somewhere in your Saltwater flyfishing…

An innovator on both the tackle front, boating front, and a pioneer in the art of fishing films, Skip has given our passion an incredible helping hand over the years…

If you’re in any way interested ( or obsessed as I am ) with the history of fishing, and in particular the gear that has made it that much easier for us to chase the fish we do, and get to the places we need to to find those fish, then this brilliant video from the folks at Press Launch Films needs to be watched.. …
Narrated by the great Flip Pallot, it details the development from infancy to current day of one of the most famous names in shallow water fishing crafts, Hells Bay Boatworks ( http://www.hellsbayboatworks.com), a company Skip co-founded with boat designer Chris Morejohn…. beautifully shot, edited and produced, its well worth the 20 minutes of your time…. some beautiful history, incredible innovation, and a whole bunch of Magic….
